Paul Helbers under the Creative Direction of Marc Jacobs has managed to steer the Louis Vuitton Man into his own, very precise direction. This season's starting point was Vienna, it's inhabitants' approach to life and the architecture of the city, both historical and modern. This may sound like quite a general theme but when looking at the functional nylon vests mixed with classic tailoring, often teamed with a riding boot which sometimes quite daringly had a clogged sole, Helbers really did evoke both Austrian history and embraced modernity. Why not team a beautiful suit with a nylon anorack? Generally the collection was monochromatic but touches of neon yellow teamed with the hand painted forest and skyscapes on oiled leather bags really lifted what was already a very tasteful, funcional and beautiful collection.
